America is the greatest country in the world! The opportunity and hope it has
provided to people from all walks of life is unprecedented.
When my grandparents risked everything to
immigrate legally to this country from Greece, they did so because the freedom to find their own way and
determine their outcome was readily available. Previous generations have sacrificed dearly to preserve this
gift of freedom.
Now, it is our turn, as grateful beneficiaries, to stand and preserve this legacy.
America is the land of people who are smart, innovative, and willing to sacrifice for anyone in their time of
need. Our capacity is boundless, our charity renowned. We can solve and overcome any problem before us using
our common sense and American ingenuity.
The current politicians in Washington have failed us.
Crippling debt, extreme waste, a terrible economy, high unemployment and an unwillingness to support small
businesses are the results of our incumbents in DC. We can do better and that's why I'm running.
I
want to stand up for "We the People" with the resolve that we can chart our destiny more efficiently and
elegantly than career politicians ever can. A thimble full of common sense is more effective than anything
Washington DC could produce. It is this common sense I intend to deliver as the next United States Senator
representing the State of Washington.

Paul on FoxNews Strategy Room, 2/23, edited for brevity
March 9, 2010
"I know there is a lot of anticipation about whether Dino Rossi will join the race for U.S. Senate. He is clearly the favorite with the most affection and name recognition in the state. At this point in time, he is not a contender, though. I still maintain that the only serious US Senate candidate in the race, so far, is Paul Akers. I am not prepared to "endorse" him yet, but at this point in the race, he's the only candidate that caused me to sit up and take notice." Read more
